Engineers Week 2026: That's a Wrap! 
 
Thank you to everyone who shared their stories for E-Week. Here are the highlights from last week’s campaign:
  • Spotlight on the Class of 2006
    Olin alumni are transforming their futures in a variety of ways, while one thing remains constant: the value of their Olin education, with its opportunity for lifelong insights. Ben Bloom, VP of Manufacturing Success at First Resonance, Polina Segalova, Head of Product at Teal Health, and Jay Gantz, Division Chief of Otology at Oregon Health & Science University, shared how Olin helped them in their careers. Watch the video
  • Video: Open Duck Mini
    The latest addition to the Olin College Family, Open Duck Mini, is an open-source bipedal robot created by Mo Ampane ’26 and Dexter Friis-Hecht ’26. The Oliners were advised by Professor Victoria Preston ’16 and received an Olin College of Engineering SAG grant that helped to make this project a reality. Watch the video
  • Transformative Storytelling: The Story Lab at OIin Partners with LearningWell Coalition
    In February, the LearningWell Coalition and The Story Lab kicked off their new partnership to bring the impactful stories created in The Story Lab to a broader platform. Stories from The Story Lab participants will be shared on a monthly basis on LearningWell Magazine, and the series launched with a two-part podcast episode that first aired on Feb. 17, with the second airing on Feb. 24Read the article
  • Four months. Five Oliners. One autonomous drone.
    Liam Fries ’28 (ECE), Trinity Haisch ’28 (MechE), Althea Ivins ’28 (ECE), Matthew Kwon ’28 (MechE), and Jonathan Sun ’28 (MechE) recently set out to create a machine learning enabled autonomous drone for their Principles of Integrated Engineering (PIE) class. Enjoying the challenge and working together as a team, they’ve decided to develop the project further and plan to continue working on it. See the highlight

Wed., March 4: REJI Online Convenings: 
1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. / Virtual
As part of the REJI Champions team’s membership in the REJI, out of Bridgewater State, Oliners are invited to their online convenings this semester. This session will be led by Cathy McCarron, dean of Arts, Humanities and Adult Education, and Krystin St. Onge, faculty of Psychology & Human Services, at Cape Cod Community College. ​​See the PDF attached
 
Thurs., March 5: Study Away: Spring Semester Tabling
12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. / CC Dining Hall
The decision to study away can be a big one. Are you searching by country or major, budgeting for costs, or wanting to learn about the region and cultural experiences?! Olin's Study Away Partners can guide you to find the right study abroad program. Please see the PDF attached with clickable links and reach out to Xong Sony Yang (xsyang@olin.edu) with any questions. Olin's Application Deadline is March 15, and the College's Study Away Partners will be on campus on the following dates: 
 
Thurs., March 12: Spring Town Hall Meeting
4 p.m. - 5 p.m. / The Nord
May will start the Town Hall with a few remarks, followed by questions and conversation. This will be an in-person event only, and all students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
 
Candidates' Weekends 2026
Join us for the third of three 2026 Candidates’ Weekends (CW) from March 6-7. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Olin community to help the OAFA team select the Class of 2030. Questions can be sent to Salvadore Liberto (sliberto@olin.edu), Dean of Admission and Financial Aid.
 
Mon., March 30: Multicultural Fair
6 p.m. - 9 p.m. 
The multicultural fair is a day where students, staff and faculty are invited to represent and share their cultures with the Olin community through clothing, cooking and activities. Though the fair is in the evening, we hope you will represent your cultures throughout the day by wearing anything you feel comfortable in, from sports jerseys to traditional clothing.   • Open Outlook and go to the "Calendar tab."
  • In the top toolbar, click "Add Calendar."
  • Select "From Address Book."
  • In the search field, type "Olin Events Calendar."
  • Click "OK" and allow the calendar to sync.
