R. May Lee, Visionary Entrepreneur and Education Leader, Named Olin College of Engineering President

The Board of Trustees has announced the unanimous appointment of R. May Lee as the third President of the College. Her tenure will begin on Aug. 18, 2025. Read the announcement.

 

Olin College receives $100k gift for "Supercharged" Engineering Design Studio

Olin has received a generous $100,000 gift to support the creation of the Harris Studio, an innovative engineering design space in Olin's Miller Academic Center (MAC). Read more.

 

Olin College Awarded Grant from the Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University

Erhardt Graeff, associate professor of social and computer science, and Andrea Cuadra '13, assistant professor of computer science, have been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Educating Character Initiative (ECI), a part of the Program for Leadership and Character at Wake Forest University. "Biomimicry" Course Helps Engineers Draw Inspiration from Nature

Students in Olin's "Biomimicry" course are learning how drawing insights from nature can help them become better and more sustainable designers and engineers. Read more.

 

From Three Continents to One Global Perspective: Camilo Cuartas-Lopera '26 Reflects on Study Abroad and the Gilman Scholarship (a special feature article by Courtney Beach)

Thanks to the prestigious Gilman Scholarship, Camilo spent a semester in a unique multi-country program exploring the global impacts of climate change. For one semester, he lived and studied in Morocco, Nepal and Ecuador, three vastly different countries, each facing shared environmental challenges. Read the article.

 

Jon Adler to be Featured on Proxy Podcast 

Jon, professor of psychology at Olin, will be a featured guest on an upcoming episode of Proxy, a podcast that was named an Apple favorite podcast in 2024. Proxy charted at #7 in Science on Apple Podcasts and #122 in Top Podcasts in the World. The episode will air on Tues., July 1, and can be found here
