Community Dialogues
On
March 28 from 6:30-8:00 pm, Peter Krause will
visit our campus to lead us through two sessions. All students, staff, &
faculty are invited. The first is a talk, followed by 30-minutes of dialogue
on the topic of “The Israel-Hamas War: Historical and Political Context
before October 7.” Use this form if you
would like to submit a question for Peter in advance. The full session
description is below.
This session will provide historical and political context to
help attendees understand the ongoing conflict in and around Gaza. Topics to
be discussed include the history of the Zionist and Palestinian national
movements, the causes and consequences of previous wars and peace processes
between Israelis, Palestinians, and their Arab state neighbors, and the
strategy of Hamas and Israel leading up to and during the current
conflict.
AI Ethics and Policy Event at Babson

The Butler Institute at Babson College is hosting an event with
AI pioneer and newly announced US Science Envoy for Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Rumman Chowdhury,
centered around AI, ethics, and policy on April 2, 2024, in the Winn

Therapy Dogs are Back at SLAC
April 3 from 8:00-10:00 PM
Therapy dogs are back at SLAC! (Stay Late and Create). These
fluffy friends love visiting Oliners and proving a way to destress before
finals. Approximately 8 registered therapy animals from around the state will
be coming to visit Olin.
Olin Craft Fair
April 5, 12:00-1:00 PM
The craft fair is a semesterly held tradition where Olin
students and staff sell hand made goods. This semester we’re featuring
approximately 20 creators, featuring items like knit and crochet wearables,
pottery, woodwares, and more!
Solar Eclipse Watch Party
April 8, 2:30-4:30 PM
The total solar eclipse is happening soon, and The Library
invites you to our Solar Eclipse Watch Party on Monday, April 8 from
2:30-4:30 PM on the O! We will have eclipse glasses, snacks, chalk, bubbles,
and more! A total solar eclipse will not pass through the United States again
until 2044, so now is the perfect opportunity to witness this event and enjoy
an afternoon outdoors. To learn more about the eclipse, check out NASA’s website.

Arab-American Heritage Month - Open Mic Night
April 17, 5:00-7:00 PM
On April 17 from 5-7pm in the Crescent Rooms (CC 209-213)
the Office of IDEA & the Library will be hosting an Open Mic night to
celebrate Arab-American Heritage month. We will be catering appetizers &
desserts from a local Egyptian restaurant. Food will be available
at 4:30pm. Feel free to grab a bit then & bring your dinner from the DH.
We invite you to come share a poem, story, or musical piece that means
something to you or that is related to Arab-American Heritage month. This
event is open to students, faculty, and staff!
